Evan Meyer

Landscape Designer

Evan Meyer is a third-generation member of the Meyer Landscape & Design family. Evan brings more than 20 years of experience with Meyer Landscape & Design in a range of roles over the years. He holds a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville and began his career working hands-on with the landscape crews, gaining a deep understanding of the design-build process from the ground up. 

Evan’s extensive knowledge spans plant material, hardscapes, irrigation, lighting, and pest control. His formal education combined with practical field experience allows him to guide clients with both creativity and precision. 

His signature design style leans Midwest Rustic, but he enjoys adapting to his clients’ preferences. Whether it’s Contemporary, Colorado-inspired, or an English Garden, Evan works to bring each client’s vision to life in a way that fits their site, soil, and the Midwest climate. 

What he enjoys most is visiting properties, listening to client goals, and turning those ideas into thoughtful, functional outdoor spaces that work with nature. 

Do you have a favorite plant or flower and what makes it your favorite? 

“Different Seasons have Different Plants. In Spring Crocus are a go to for me. Mid spring the yellow blooming alyssum. Catmints add nice blue tinge and purple flowers. The best consistent blooming shrub is the knockout rose. I do not design them often but people underestimate Oak trees. These trees allow a full lawn beneath them and a nice cooling shade.” 

When you’re not creating beautiful landscapes, how do you like to spend your time? 

“I enjoy hiking with my dog. And spending time with family.”
